- The Shop
The 200-seat self-service dining restaurant, located at Orchard Central, is the first restaurant in Singapore to serve up various Mediterranean fare – such as Spanish, Moroccan, French, Turkish and Greek − in a one-stop, integrated open dining concept, providing a colourful, exotic dining experience
Decked out in the rich and vibrant colours synonymous with the Mediterranean, the MEDZS offers a fresh dining concept, embracing a stirring range of the Mediterranean’s signature dishes amidst a vivacious ambience and rich aroma.
Rustic furnishings, pendant lamps and lanterns gives a warmth atmosphere.
Apart from the food, MEDZS also have an international bar serving over 120 types of Mediterranean and international brands of beer, wine, as well as a Power Juice Station.
- The Food
There are three delicious platters to tuck into this Mother's Day at MEDZS. The special promotion is available on 12th May 2013 Lunch & Dinner. Diners spend above $150 will also receive a complimentary whole cake for the Mother.
Welcome Mocktail Drink for the MOTHERS only!
The homemade lemongrass mocktail has a hint of sweet fragrant of orange and zingy taste of lime. Sorry, you won't get one if you ain't mother. ;)
The Greek XXL Seafood Platter @ $49.80+
An eclectic range of seafood such as butter grilled king crab, salmon head, sea bass, sea bream, snapper, blue mussels and fresh live prawns.
The grilled fishes were very lovely, fresh and succulent. The crab was a tad salty thou, but is very tender, delectable and appetizing. Enjoy freshness from the sea with very basic seasoning added.
The seafood platter comes with a side of salad.
The mashed potato was awesome!! Like the bites of small bits of potato, and most of us raved about the mealy, heavy starchy mashed. Not for people who likes airy and fluffy mashed.
French Family Meat Platter @ $48.80+
Carnivorous cravings must not miss this platter of pan-fried duck confit, crispy pork belly, AUS Wagyu beef rump, roasted pork ribs. The pork ribs are fork tender, pork belly was bake, roll and grill, duck confit was tender with crispy skin, the beef was a tad salty, diners can request for the done-ness they prefer.
Side of roasted wild mushroom, roasted potatoes infused with olive oil and green salad to temper the taste.
The Desserts Platter @ $21.90+
The luscious dessert platter consists of red velvet cake, chocolate brownie, churros with chocolate sauce, lychee rose panna cotta and earl grey creme brulee. The sweetest treat ever served in a platter! The earl grey creme brulee and lychee rose panna cotta was utterly delicious, it's my favourite!!
Beside the Mother's Day promotion, we also order some bread with dips from the Live Station.
Truffles with sour cream (fluffy, incredibly creamy, and light), Hummus (the texture is like a paste, not so smooth but is flavorful, inviting and exotic), Eggplant (for eggplant lover only!).
Tofffee Apple Cider (All Beers 1-for-1)
The alcohol content is only 4%! Enjoy a fruity beer without getting drunk!! Loves it!!!
- My Opinion
MEDZS is just like Marche, the only difference is that MEDZS serves a variety of Mediterranean dishes. The self-service dining concept gives diners the flexibility to order from any of the 8 F&B stations, and to witness their meals being freshly prepared before them. All food orders will be electronically updated and consolidated on a ‘credit card’, allowing customers the convenience of paying only at the end of their meal.
I have not tried the rest of the food, but the seafood and dessert platter did leave a deep impression. I will definitely be back to try more of their food!
A night of fun and laughter with new bloggers that I met.
