More tips
1. For chocolate flavour, substitute 1 tbsp cocoa powder for the same quanity of flour.
2. For a chunkier texture, use coarsely chopped chocolate instead of chocolate chips.
3. For mocha flavour, use coffee essence instead of vanilla essence.

Heart Shape Cheesecake

Double happiness when luck and love collides on 14th February 2010. Twice the reason to indulge on Chinese New Year & Valentine's Day. What a day to remember!

It's not often that the celebrations of luck and love collide in a single day - which is even more excuse to go the whole hog and whip up a feast that will delight both the modern and traditional at heart.

Had bake pineapple tarts for Chinese New Year, now making some heart shape cheesecake...

2nd attempt of Cornflakes Cookies

Since I'd successfully made my pineapple tart yesterday, I decided to make some extra Cornflakes Cookies for my Mum and Granny as well.

2nd attempt of cornflakes was as yummy as the first attempt few weeks back. I make it into a small ball this time instead of a big cookies shape. I skip the glaced cherries and grated rind of lemon. It still taste as good but less chewy & crispy since I had replace the shortening with salted butter.

Overall feedback, most of my colleagues perferred this 2nd attempt than the first. But both taste as good! You try it and decided yourself. =D

Kumquat Jam Tarts

Pineapple tarts are a must in most Chinese homes during Chinese New Year.

Give the usual pineapple tarts a twist by using kumquat jam instead. Kumquat is sweeter and lends a fragrant citrus flavour to the tarts. The kumquat jam may also be eaten with toast and butter.

Pineapple Fried Rice

Bought extra pineapple for making the pineapple tart yesterday, I decided to make some Pineapple fried rice today.

Pineapple rice not only look visually appealing, the taste is simply mouthwatering and utterly appetizing specially when it comes in a hollowed out pineapple.

The tempting good smell set my stomach rumbling; needless to say, dinner was absolutely delightful.

Baking Adventures Begin...

Woo Hoo!! Finally I had bought a oven last night (25-Jan-2010, Monday).

I am so excited and looking forward to my baking adventures. I love home cooked food and home baked stuff. But never get a chance to bake.

Now I can pick up some skill and finally all the baking receipt I had kept from magazine are in use!

Cheesecake (Non-Bake) (芝士冻饼-免烤)

Cheesecake (Non-Bake)
There are quite a few type of Cheesecake that doesn't require baking. More or less are the same, except some don't include lemon juice. And some with geltine and some doesn't, more butter or lesser etc.

However this cheesecake I'm sharing with you is one of the better version I'd tried. It's really so tasty that so many of my colleagues asked for the receipe after I bought the cheesecake to office to share with them.
